I'm a creative and outdoorsy person and I use she/her pronouns.
My story
I was adopted from South Korea when I was just six months old and grew up with two older brothers, with whom I share a strong bond. Family is incredibly important to me, and I find my greatest happiness in spending time with my loved ones.
I have always been passionate about the disability field and feel fortunate to work as a support worker, where I continue to deepen my understanding. Currently, I am studying Disability Developmental Education, gaining valuable skills in understanding disabilities, effective communication, individualized support planning, advocacy, collaboration, and behavior management. I find joy in helping others and believe that everyone deserves equal rights. Whether through small gestures or significant support, I love to assist individuals in any way I can. As a future disability developmental educator, my goal is to create inclusive learning environments that empower individuals with disabilities. I aspire to develop tailored educational programs that meet individuals needs, advocate for their rights, and promote their independence and self-advocacy skills. Ultimately, I aim to help them reach their full potential and lead fulfilling lives.
Why Bright Star?
There are a lot of reasons why I work here, the biggest reason for me is the supportive work environment. I have felt so supported by Bianca and the team, which wasn't something I was used to before. Our work environment is unique to Bright Star. It's something we've built as a team through our diverse experiences as people.
What are my likes?
I enjoy a variety of activities, such as travelling, attending concerts and festivals, brunching, beach walks, playing board games, having art days, and watching movies. I thrive on learning new things and stepping out of my comfort zone.

I embrace this in my life by taking on leadership roles, joining art clubs, playing netball, and organising volunteer events. These experiences have played a crucial role in shaping who I am today.
What does my work look like?
I'm a support worker, so my days can involve plenty of different things. I often support families with multiple children which involves prompting and supporting kids and parents with chores, cooking, after school routines, extracurricular activities, and other outings. One of the clients I work with loves to play pretend games and hide and seek. That's a skill I've had to learn on the job (and I think I've gotten pretty good at it). My favourite things to do clients would have to be art, baking, and exploring nature.
