My story
I’ve grown through the people I’ve met and the experiences I’ve had throughout my life. Supporting others, learning from different perspectives, and being there for the people around me has helped shape me into a more patient, caring, and understanding person. Why Bright Star?
What excites me most is the chance to make a real difference in someone's day. I enjoy building genuine connections with people, helping them feel supported, and seeing them grow in confidence and independence. Bright Star's focus on kindness and person-centred support really stands out to me, and I feel it matches the kind of support worker I want to be.
What are my likes?
In my free time I enjoy going to the beach, doing yoga, and taking time for self-care. I also love spending quality time with my family and friends, and I enjoy doing crafts and other creative activities. I find these hobbies help me stay balanced, positive, and present in my everyday life.
What does my work look like?
As a support worker and therapy assistant, my days can involve a wide variety of things. I support many family units with multiple participants. I have experience in complex spaces, and with PDA profiles. I always came back to “behaviour is communication.”
I often support my clients with daily living skills like cooking and meal planning, cleaning and home maintenance and general organizational skills. I also support in the community. This can include (but is not limited to) errands, appointments, walks in nature and attending groups.
A highlight for me is when I get the opportunity to support family units with outings- in the past I’ve support at Comic-Con and the Royal Adelaide Show.
