My story
I never really knew what I wanted to do after finishing school. I tried studying cake and pastry, as well as childcare, but neither of them really felt like the right fit for me. I spent a few months thinking about what I wanted to do before one of my friends told me they thought I would make an amazing support worker. I went home and thought about it, and I realised they were right — I’ve always loved helping and supporting others. So I thought, why not? And here I am now, studying my Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) and excited to see where this journey takes me!
Why Bright Star?
I’m excited to support people to live more independently and achieve their goals. I’m a caring, patient and hardworking person who genuinely enjoys helping others. I would love to continue growing my skills and gaining experience in the disability sector, which is why I’m excited about work at Bright Star.
What are my likes?
I love to bake, watch the NRL. I love to travel; I love Sydney and i would really like to visit cairns one day. I also love going to concerts. I love camping even though i don't go lots. I love to colour in. I love playing video games like the sims

What does my work look like?
No two days in my role as a support worker are ever the same, and that’s something I really love. I enjoy encouraging my clients to build their independence and confidence, while making sure they always know I’m there to support them whenever they need a helping hand. For me, the most rewarding part of my job is knowing that I can make a positive difference in someone’s day and be part of their journey.
