Hey everyone, I'm Lily. I'm proudly autistic, queer, a trans-ally and a safe person to be yourself around. My preferred pronouns are she/her.
My story
I'm the mum of two exceptional young people who are also Autistic like me - it was through my eldest son's diagnosis at age 5 that I learned more about autism and recognised the traits in myself which led me to seek assessment and diagnosis in my 30's.
Why Bright Star?
I love that Bright Star is a neuro-affirming workplace, where being neurodivergent is considered an asset and at the same time, I receive accommodations where needed so I can be the best employee I'm able to be.

I've worked in administrative positions in all sorts of industries in my working life, but only at Bright Star have I been able to combine my genuine love of all things admin while working in an industry where my experiences as an autistic adult, an autism parent, and an NDIS participant, are all considered valid life and work experience.
What are my likes?
I'm very much a home-body - when the choices are "go big or go home", I'm definitely going home! I love to read: my favourite authors include Stephen King, Jodi Picoult, Justin Cronin, Ken Follett and Minette Walters. And I love to write: I've published articles, short stories, and a children's book. I've also written a novel that is yet to be published. My guilty pleasure is writing well researched fan-fiction.
I love Halloween and cosplay, my Halloween decorations officially go up at the beginning of October and I like to joke that it's the one time of year my everyday knick knacks look seasonal and my executive functioning issues look like a stylistic choice (yes, of course those cobwebs are supposed to be there!)

What does my work look like?
As the Finance Manager, I'm the one who ensures invoices are generated and sent out to ensure Bright Star has a steady income and stays in business to support you! I also make sure our bills are paid on time, ensure our staff are paid correctly and our office has everything it needs to run smoothly.
