My story
I grew up in a small town, somewhere between the country and the coast. I’d describe myself as outgoing, encouraging and a little bit quirky!
I love building genuine connections and will try just about anything — within reason! I also have a pretty good sense of humour. A fun fact about me? I LOVE Sesame Street, and Big Bird is my favourite.
I have two sausage dogs with very different personalities. Somehow, I’m constantly gifted things with sausage dogs on them, despite never actually choosing to decorate my home with them!
I found my passion for the disability sector in 2018 and joined Bright Star in 2020. It’s been an incredible journey, and I continue to learn every day about myself, the people I support and the neurodiverse experience.
I’m passionate about inclusion, advocacy and providing support that is genuinely tailored to each person — meeting them where they’re at and helping them feel heard, valued and supported.
Why Bright Star?
Bright Star is built on kindness, compassion, authenticity and empowerment- values that I hold closely.
I also highly value that Bright Star is Autistic-led and offers neuro-affirming support. Bright Star also offers support in a unique way, where we work to wrap around the client and the people closest to them. I truly believe that this makes Bright Star stand out in the field!
What are my likes?
I enjoy a very wide variety of things- I’m a bit of a hobby chameleon!
I love being active- in my free time I run, go to the gym and enjoy walks in nature.
I also pick up a new craft hobby every few months… knitting, crochet, painting, embroidery- I’ve tried it all!
You’ll also find me at concerts, going to the theatre, seeing musicals and movies. I love to cook and bake. I’ve recently started baking my own bread- but it’s a work in progress.

What does my work look like?
As a support worker and therapy assistant, my days can involve a wide variety of things. I support many family units with multiple participants. I have experience in complex spaces, and with PDA profiles. I always came back to “behaviour is communication.”
I often support my clients with daily living skills like cooking and meal planning, cleaning and home maintenance and general organizational skills. I also support in the community. This can include (but is not limited to) errands, appointments, walks in nature and attending groups.
A highlight for me is when I get the opportunity to support family units with outings- in the past I’ve support at Comic-Con and the Royal Adelaide Show.
